I did as extensive of a Black Friday post as I could manage this year, but there are enough sales for Cyber Monday (that weren’t on for Black Friday), that I felt it warranted another look. A lot of gear on sale right now only goes on sale just once a year (including 20% off Hyperlite Mountain Gear backpacks, 20% off stock Enlightened Equipment quilts, and 30% off Guthook trail guides), so if you’re looking to upgrade your kit for next summer, now might be your best chance.
Also, REI might opt outside on Black Friday, but they don’t pull any punches on Cyber Monday – offering up one of their biggest yearly sales. As with the Black Friday deals, a lot of the gear prescribed by Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail hikers in the PCT Gear Survey and the CDT Gear Survey can be found discounted.
A lot of this might look similar to the Black Friday sales, but I was surprised to see that a lot of the discounts on gear have gotten even deeper on Cyber Monday (an extra 5 to 10% on a lot of items).
