Another Escape Volume Five: Mac Gets Published

By Mac Leave a Comment

It’s all fine and good that I can self-publish whatever I feel like (like awesomely weird J-Pop videos or ambiguously worded cat photo albums) here on the glorious internet, but it’s entirely different thing to have something published in printed form.

The kind people at the publication, Another Escape, reached out to me because they believed that my words needed extend beyond the reach of our backlit, time killing electronic devices. They wanted to put my words on paper (and then sell that paper to people).

Another Escape Volume 5

So what’s Another Escape?

According to their website, Another Escape is “an outdoor lifestyle and creative culture publication that explores the stories of passionate people and the motivations behind their inspirational lifestyles.”

Apparently they thought me passionate enough and my lifestyle inspirational enough to have my stories and motivations explored. Neat.

I wrote a three-piece article for them on the subject of trail magic, and I have to say – I am happy with the result.

If you’re interested in reading words off paper instead of screens, I encourage you to take a look at their website and consider getting yourself a copy of their lovely publication (and not simply because I’m in it – but mostly because I’m in it).

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:

Curious. Skeptically you open the lid, praying that this ‘Trail Angel Bob’ fellow is not some sadist who fills coolers with bees to dupe unsuspecting hikers. A cold burst of air escapes, dissipating into the sweltering desert heat – the contents are even more shocking than if the cooler had been filled with bees.

You can find the full article in Volume Five (Summer 2015) of their publication. Check it out here!
