It’s just past midnight, and I have just finished what I deem an acceptable amount of planning and preparation for the start of my 2,600 mile adventure.
I ended up throwing a lot more into my pack than I initially planned, and I have no idea what tomorrow has in store, but following my 1.5 hour drive to Campo in the morning I will quickly discover what I did right and what I should have done differently.
FINAL NOTES
A few things have changed since a week ago, and I am sure they will continuing changing, but here are where things stand as of now:
- I will not be bringing an ice axe, crampons, or microspikes.
- I have decided to bring trekking poles
along after all (mostly for bear defense).
- My backpack does in fact fit all of my gear (good news there).
- I am certain that I have forgotten something that I have yet to think of.
Now it’s time to get what will surely be an inadequate night’s sleep to prepare myself for the adventure (but, what would an adventure be without insufficient sleep?).
