A narrow dirt trail winds through a green meadow dotted with rocks, inviting adventurers on a thru-hike towards distant mountains under a partly cloudy sky. Trees line the path, and a blue lake is visible on the right, perfect for capturing stunning PCT video memories.

The PCT: Three Second Thru-Hike (VIDEO)

It takes a long time to walk the 2,600 miles of Pacific Crest Trail, and a good percentage of those miles offer very little in terms of scenery, wildlife, or enjoyment in general (aka most of Oregon).

Before I started down the PCT I eagerly watched any video or even raw footage to pump myself up for the adventure, and to my dismay, much of it was absolute garbage (really, just terrible).

So I had the genius idea of taking a short video each day hiked, with the hopes of stringing them all together at the hike’s conclusion (yes, although the PCT posts continue, I am in fact finished hiking) to offer a glimpse of what the PCT has to offer.

So? How did it turn out? You be the judge.

  1. Which camera or GO PRo did you use for filming. I am in the market to get one. Go Pro Silver?

  2. Dude, sweet video and music. I am planning my pct Thru hike April 2017 so I can save up. How far into your hike did you get past being super sore and but out more mile days. I have a friend that did it and he said he planned on doing 16 mile days but grew doing doing tons of 30 mile days. Great job, very inspiring
