A brightly lit urban canal at night in Japan, with reflections of colorful lights on the water. The scene is lined with tall buildings and billboards, creating a lively city atmosphere. Pedestrian walkways run parallel to the canal.

VIDEO: Welcome To Japan

Armed with my dozens of short clips from Japan that would normally end up simply wasting space on my hard drive, I attempted the creation of a short video to show a sampling of what one can expect in the country.

Footage comes from various parts Japan, but the bulk is taken from Kumamoto, Kyoto, and Osaka Prefectures. The following matches locations with their prefectures in order of appearance.

For anyone wondering about Takachiho Gorge – it is located in Miyazaki Prefecture.

Those of you playing detective, I know, the film follows no rational geographical (or chronological) order. To do so was not my intention.

The video’s soundtrack comes to us from the San Francisco based band Builders. Check them out on Facebook at facebook.com/BuildersBand.
