I was recently asked by DJ Jess from BreakThru Radio to do an interview for her podcast Twenty-Something Traveler.
Being the gentleman that I am (and since having a conversation with someone is far more enjoyable than responding to an email that goes something like, “Hey! I want to interview you! Here’s twenty questions it took me five minutes to write. Can you please give me well thought out, comprehensive responses to each of them? I know that this could easily take hours or days, but could you get it back to me tomorrow morning? So great working with you. Thanks!”), I agreed to talk with her about whatever it is she wanted to talk about (I assumed this was going to be the PCT).
Now even though she refers to me as “Mac Fox” (combining my trail and slave names), and even though she calls the PCT the Pacific Coast Trail in her description (I emailed her about this, but to no avail), I feel that these transgressions can be forgiven since she ultimately decided to publish our conversation for the world to hear.

A lot of her questions caught me off guard (especially the “what’s your best travel story” question – to which I failed to respond with my best travel story) because I was under the impression we were going to discuss our friend the Pacific Crest Trail, but I shared as best I as I was able.
Sick of reading and ready to listen? Me neither – the sound of my voice creeps me out.
BEWARE: if you’re a fan of what I write here on the site, listening to my voice construct unrefined thoughts through a shitty laptop microphone may put you off of me forever (I’ll miss you). It’ll be like that time you accidentally saw a picture of the lead singer from your favorite band and it forever ruined their music for you (whatever you do, don’t click here).
I’ve cut out the interview and embedded it below, but if you want to check out the entire podcast, then you can find it on BreakThru Radio’s site where the interview starts at 13:17 (feel free to listen to the rest if you’re interested – full disclosure: I didn’t).
