Simon Willis thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in 2002 and made audio recordings with the people he and his hiking partner met during their hike. Over twenty years later, he’s turned these recordings into a podcast series: The Pacific Crest Trail, Then and Now.
I spoke to him for Episode 7 in the series to discuss the Pacific Crest Trail Hiker Survey and how the data has changed since his 2002 hike and from the start of the survey in 2013.
Listen to the podcast below and find a few photos from Simon’s 2022 PCT thru-hike below – including one from the (now defunct) PCT Kick Off (ADZPCTKO).
Or listen now on Spotify, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, or wherever you get your podcasts.
